GENERAL 2025
City of Burien
Council Position No. 3
Burien is where my wife and I are raising our two-year-old, and we love it. I want what’s best for our families: we need more affordable homes, safer streets for families, and a city government that works for us. Along with many others, I fought for—and won—a strong minimum wage increase, with the people voting 57% to 42%, but our council is wasting taxpayer money fighting it in court. That's wrong. Our city should be working with King County on homelessness, not turning down $1 million in vital funding without explanation.
We deserve better. I stand for workers’ rights, tenant rights, and environmental justice. I’m endorsed by King County Democrats, the 33rd & 34th District Democrats, Teamsters 117, WA Housing Alliance Action Fund, Congressman Adam Smith, King County Councilmembers Teresa Mosqueda and Girmay Zahilay, Senators Tina Orwall & Emily Alvarado, State Lands Commissioner Dave Upthegrove, and many more. Join us!
I’m running for Burien City Council to bring accountability, responsibility, and common sense to our city leadership. As a registered nurse and 16-year Burien resident, I’ve seen the heartbreaking impact active addiction has had in our community. Programs like harm reduction and supportive housing have turned into a symbol of what happens when we abandon responsibility and accountability. It’s time we change that.
As Chair of the Human Services Commission, I’ve worked to address these challenges firsthand and recognize how vital it is to invest in effective public safety, housing that is affordable, and community services. We can accomplish this with compassion and practical solutions. We need to grow our city’s resources by attracting businesses and building our local economy.
Burien deserves leadership that’s focused on public safety, affordability, and sustainable growth. I’m proudly endorsed by King County Police Officers' Guild. I’d be honored to earn your support and vote.
