GENERAL 2025
City of Black Diamond
Council Position No. 6
Black Diamond has a special place in my heart, and I value the people and history here. Until 4 years ago, I served as Utility Superintendent with responsibility for water, streets, sewer, stormwater, parks and cemetery. We need to prioritize direct services to residents, not raise taxes to build a multi-million dollar new city hall.
Our council has a lot of new members and will benifit from the practical municipal experience that I can provide. With rapid development, it is more important than ever for the city to set effective, more enforceable standards, and hold developers to them.
Many city decisionsare being made behind close doors. The Council needs to be more open and proactive, especially regarding the budget and land development. Tax and rate increasees should always be the last resort, not a band-aid for poor nplanning. Our Council needs to put residents interests above corporate interests.
My wife and I have proudly called Black Diamond home for the past four years, and we’re committed to its future. As our city experiences rapid growth, I believe we can embrace progress while preserving the small-town charm that makes Black Diamond unique.
I am dedicated to ensuring that development is thoughtful and sustainable, addressing infrastructure needs and traffic concerns without compromising our community's character. Projects like the Ten Trails development offer opportunities, but they must be balanced with investments in parks, public safety, and local businesses to serve both new and longtime residents.
Transparency and community engagement are at the heart of my approach. I will actively listen to residents' voices and prioritize decisions that reflect our shared values. Together, we can guide Black Diamond through this pivotal time, honoring our heritage while building a vibrant future.
