Education: Seattle University and Ohio State studying transformational leadership, political science
Occupation: King County Council Member, former small business owner, non-profit executive
Statement:

After holding over 700 meetings with neighbors, small business owners, first responders, and more in her first term, and receiving thousands of responses to her annual district-wide survey, Sarah is deeply aware of the priorities of our district, and has a track record of delivering for us, including over $275 million in District 3 investments.

With infrastructure investments and safety a top priority in our district, Sarah has prioritized safety on our roads and bridges, expanded access to reliable transit, secured federal funding for the new Eastrail bike trail, prepared for light rail expansion, and supported funding for Snoqualmie Valley Transit. She also increased investments in our Sheriff’s Deputies for more patrols throughout our unincorporated areas.

An environmental champion, Sarah prioritizes clean water, healthy habitats, and open spaces. Committed to housing affordability for all income levels, she is creating zoning incentives to build more housing units and dedicated more than $166 million for affordable and supportive housing. A mom and former small business owner, Sarah understands the financial pressures we face and the need to remove unnecessary barriers to success for all. She is a champion for our urban and rural economies, supporting small businesses and farms.

In the face of federal uncertainty, Sarah is steadfast in her support of health clinics and emergency services. With our vote, she’ll build on her record of thoughtful and results-focused leadership, protecting the health, rights, and prosperity of the hard working people who call our region home.

Endorsed by the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe; Congressmembers Schrier, DelBene, Smith; Governor Ferguson; Public Lands Commissioner Upthegrove; nine local mayors; Washington Conservation Action; Eastside and Redmond Firefighters; MLK Labor and Construction Trades Council; Affordable Housing Council; Planned Parenthood; King County Democrats; 1st, 5th, 12th, 41st, 45th, and 48th LD Democrats; and over 200 elected and local leaders.

Statement:

I’m running to create a stronger, safer, and more affordable King County. Our county is full of potential, but we need leadership that prioritizes what matters most. I will ensure your tax dollars are used wisely, with a focus on public safety, housing affordability, and economic opportunity.

As a local business leader, nonprofit board leader, and city councilmember, I’ve built a track record of solving problems within existing financial constraints. I have helped organizations overcome some of their toughest challenges. I lead by listening deeply, acting boldly, and delivering lasting change.

Public safety is paramount. As Chair of Public Safety in my city and a member of the Regional Law, Safety, and Justice Committee, I will continue to advocate for keeping essential facilities open with smart, compassionate solutions, like expanding access to mental health and addiction treatment. We can protect our communities while addressing root causes with dignity.

Housing affordability is personal. I want my kids—and yours—to have the choice to live here. For over a decade, I’ve brought together community leaders, housing experts, and funders to create real solutions. We’ve made progress, and I’m ready to take that work countywide to preserve and expand affordable housing.

I also champion local jobs and innovation. I founded the SnoValley Innovation Center to provide free resources to startups and businesses. When COVID forced businesses to close, I helped scores of businesses get the help they needed to survive and bring over $3 million in aid to our local economy. Then, when they needed help filling positions, I created, managed, and self-funded SnoValleyJobs.com, connecting over 50,000 job seekers with 150 employers.

I bring energy, experience, and a results-driven approach. Together, we can build a King County that works for everyone. Let’s move forward—together. I’d be honored to earn your vote.
