PRIMARY 2025
City of Burien
Council Position No. 3
I ask for your vote to bring integrity over politics back to Burien. When we uplift working families, we uplift our entire city. I’m a 30-year-old small business owner, community organizer, and spouse of an immigrant, thinking about starting my family here. But like so many, I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to call Burien home. I’ve knocked on hundreds of doors hearing the same fears: losing homes to rising taxes, facing skyrocketing rents and living costs, and feeling shut out of decisions that shape our lives. I will keep property taxes fair, expand affordable housing for neighbors at every income level, protect our green spaces, and demand a transparent, accountable government that answers to you. I’m committed to real conversations, working on hard things together, and turning voters' concerns into action. As a city, we need to ensure every voice shapes the decisions affecting our daily lives.
I’m running for Burien City Council because I love this city, and it’s where my wife and I are raising our son. As a father to a two-year-old, I want what’s best for our families: we need more affordable homes, safer streets for families, and a city government that works for *us*. Along with many others, I fought for—and won—a strong minimum wage increase, 57% to 42%, but our council is wasting taxpayer money fighting it in court. That's wrong. Our city should be working with King County, not turning down a million dollars in vital funding without explanation.
We deserve better. Vote for our progressive team—including Councilmembers Hugo Garcia and Sarah Moore—and let's build a Burien that works for everyone. I’m endorsed by King County Democrats, the 33rd District Democrats, Senator Tina Orwall, and many more. Join us!
I’m running for Burien City Council to provide compassionate, common-sense leadership. As a pediatric nurse and 16 year Burien resident, I’ve seen the heartbreaking impact active addiction has had on our community. Many people, including children, have suffered accidental overdoses sometimes with fatal outcomes. It’s time for change.
As Chair of the Human Services Commission, I’ve worked to address these challenges seeing firsthand how vital it is to invest in public safety, housing, and community services that actually work. Many of our population are low income who are being priced out of Burien. Instead of raising taxes that worsen affordability, we need to grow our city’s resources by attracting businesses and building our local economy.
Burien deserves leadership that’s focused on public safety, affordability, and sustainable growth. I’ll be a voice of reason listening to you, advocating for what matters, and never backing down when our community is at stake.
