I believe a combination (career & volunteer) fire department is the best option for a consistent and financially responsible approach to providing the best possible emergency response services to our community. 

Through mutual respect, joint training, collaboration and community engagement, VIF&R can thrive and continue to serve our public safety needs with quality professional services.  

With 44 years as an emergency responder, 30 years with VIF&R + 12 as a commissioner, I believe continued community engagement, transparency, financial accountability and a respectful organizational culture are critical to VIF&R success.    Over the past six years with voter approval, we stabilized our finances and increased our numbers of career responders. Now let’s focus on rebuilding a robust cadre of volunteers to enhance our response capabilities.   It has been an honor to serve as one of your fire commissioners and I ask for your vote and support for a third term.    Candy McCullough
