Statement:

I have been your Fire Commissioner since 2000 and seeking to continue to provide vision, focus and fiscal responsibility while providing continued quality service to our growing fire district!

 

I have 50+ years collective fire service experience as a volunteer, career fire fighter and officer and former Fire Chief which started here in Federal Way in 1969, including 24 years as your Fire Commissioner.

 

Over the last 74 years South King Fire vision and goals, with your support, has strived to provide quality training, personnel and equipment which has enabled your fire district to meet the growing community needs and expectations of you the citizens, to be a Class 2 insurance rated fire district; deliver compassionate and professional emergency services that you support with your tax dollars; with expectations of timely response when you call 911 for help in your time of need.

 

Your vote for me is a vote for continued support for your fire fighters and commissioners to fulfill the ongoing goals to address the mission, vision and guiding principles of South King Fire with focus on “We Help People” in their time of need, yesterday, today and in the future, as we have done since 1949.

Greg Baruso brings over 36 years of public safety experience to his candidacy for South King Fire Department's Board of Commissioners. He envisions a collaborative, service-oriented fire department with a focus on results for the community.


Greg's goal is to modernize and equip the fire department to meet the needs of our growing community. His proven track record ensures a transparent and engaged department. He listens and has a goal of creating a 21st-century fire department.


Greg's dedication to public service is apparent through his extensive community engagement, such as serving as President of Citizens for Federal Way Public Schools and his recent tenure on the Federal Way City Council.
