Occupation: Registered Nurse, Certified Emergency Nurse
Statement:

My desire to serve as Commissioner results from my vested interest as a taxpayer, emergency RN, and firefighter’s wife. I respect the tension between tax burden and benefits. I have intimate knowledge of emergency services and want their critical work done safely and effectively.

A fire commissioner is to be the representative of the citizens, responsible for seeing that the department is appropriately funded and performing the necessary duties; establishing policies for the department to operate, and communicating with the citizens. My duty to the citizens is to ensure reliable service and fiscal responsibility. My obligation to the firefighters is to facilitate a healthy, productive environment using best practices.

KCFD45 needs a commission that is cooperative, responsive, and transparent. Our families and neighbors deserve excellent services and our firefighters deserve leadership that offers them respect and support. Thank you for your vote!

Statement:

As a member of King County Fire District 45 for 12 years, I have seen many changes in the community and how KCFD 45 has evolved to meet those changes. I believe that my years of experience in sales and as a volunteer firefighter gives me unique insight as to what will be required to ensure that our fire department is able to keep pace with the needs of our community.

My family has lived in the Valley for 27 years. My three children were raised here and graduated from Cedarcrest. I have been an active volunteer in the Valley in youth sports and as a volunteer firefighter. During this time, I have witnessed the rapid growth of the area. Our fire district needs continued leadership to ensure that it can maintain the high standards of service that we currently provide.

I appreciate your support and ask for your vote.
