GENERAL 2023
King County Fire Protection District No. 40
Commissioner Position No. 1
How do you ensure that our Fire District not only thrives in the present but remains resilient and well equipped to serve our community for generations to come?
We foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation with professional development for our fire fighters. We engage in prudent financial management with long-term results. And finally, community engagement is crucial for the district success.
I am a marketing and communication expert with a long history of business management that I am eager to apply to the commission. I am a community-based action hero having coached youth sports in Kent Parks, Renton Parks, as well as serving as board member Cascade Vista Athletics and board member Evergreen City Ballet. I am also Assistant Scout Master for your local Fairwood Area Boy Scout Troop. PTA Volunteer and much more. I’m ready to work for Fire District 40.
I have been a Fairwood resident since 1982, know our community and understand the challenges we face. I know we can be great examples of what a community can be when it works together to build a better future.
As a fire commissioner for more than a decade, I have built community support and led efforts to update our fire station, fire engine, and aid car. This has led to improved safety, savings in operational expenditures and reduced response times to you and your families. Also, as a Renton Regional Fire Authority governing board member, I was part of the negotiation to reduce our operating expenses without sacrificing our community services.
I am asking for your continued support as we work together to ensure FD40 has access to the resources they need to continue to provide essential services to our community. Endorsed by Fire Chief Doug Gibbs, retired
