The fire department is the life-blood of a community; and there is no better department to support that life blood than king county fire district #2. I know this because I have lived here, raised kids here, built a business here, and served as both a volunteer and career firefighter for 30 years. I’ve also had the opportunity of instructing many of you in the local CERT program.

It is a privilege to have grown up in this community and it was an honor to have served it. As I continue my service as commissioner, I will work to create policies that ensure that our community is kept safe through professionally trained personnel, properly equipped stations, and a fiscally responsible fire department.

As your Fire Commissioner, I will continue to ensure that our residents receive the highest level of fire protection and emergency services. As a taxpayer, I will be fiscally responsible and allocate funds appropriately.

I am a motivated and engaged commissioner who understands the responsibility of managing a multimillion-dollar budget. I will continue to ensure our firefighters have the tools and training needed to respond to the emergencies of our ever-growing community. I feel that I can best help in the decision-making process by valuing ideas and choices that reflect our communities’ best interests without wasting money or underfunding our emergency responders.

My project management experience has given me almost a decade of knowledge in managing budgets, organizing projects, and working with stakeholders. I believe my project management experience and background are an asset to the residents of Burien and Normandy Park, and I respectfully ask for your vote.
