I believe the Vashon Cemetery is an important part of our island community and I will work to help keep this a vital and vibrant organization that honors our past while looking forward to the future by incorporating progressive funeral initiatives, such as the new green burial options.  

I bring to this position a lifelong interest in cemeteries as well as a belief in being an active and engaged member of my community. I have prior Board of Directors and financial oversight experience in both my professional and volunteer work. I also bring a personal commitment, I have three family members memorialized at the Vashon cemetery and one day I will be as well.

I would be honored to be your commissioner on this dynamic and unique island organization.

An energetic, upbeat, 34 year Vashon resident, I have served the Island in many capacities - teacher, health care provider, public servant, and Director of the Chamber of Commerce.  My board experience is vast and varied, and includes Vashon Parks & Recrecreational District Commissioner and Fern Cove Board member.

My intentions are simple, to continue to provide well-maintained and honored grounds, while working to include the Vashon Cemetery in the Nation's distinguished Purple Heart Trail, honoring our Island's fallen, awarded heroes.
