My journey to the bench began on Bus# 174 when I was a homeless youth who would use public transition and shelters for safety. Later, being a young mother in a domestic violence relationship would result in the navigation of our complicated court system as a pro se litigant.  I went into the legal profession to give voice and representation to stories like mine.

I bring to the bench over fifteen years’ experience, having practiced first as a city prosecutor, then an Assistant Attorney General before later managing a solo office, representing indigent parents in termination, family law, and other criminal matters. Both my personal and professional experiences have grounded me in the belief that each person who comes before the court has a right to fair and impartial decisions that are guided by a deep understanding of the law balanced with compassion. 

My goals:  engage the expertise of our court staff, expand access to courts, and increase civic education and community participation. My focus:  maximizing resources, addressing disproportionality, and upholding the rule of law.  I bring the principles of courage, integrity, and compassion.
