Judge Rania Rampersad values justice and fairness. Since her unanimous appointment to the Court in 2021, she regularly hears cases involving domestic violence, homelessness, mental health, and addiction. She understands that the right balance of compassion and accountability can get people's lives back on track and keep our community safer for everyone.

Judge Rampersad brings her experience of over a decade in public service, at every level of Washington court, and across the globe. She has served as a judge pro tempore, public defender, and prosecutor. She has worked for the United Nations and non-profits in Asia and Africa promoting human rights, the rule of law, and criminal justice reform. Our community needs judges like Judge Rampersad to ensure the bench shares our values, respects everyone's rights, and faithfully executes the law.
